The Parco del Gusto – Savour's Park will be in Gorizia's Municipal Park and will explore food, culture and music from the cross-border area between Gorizia and Nova Gorica, giving a hint of what it will happen with GO!2025. A full program of events will unfold there, with meetings and show-cookings by Slow Food, and live music. Plus local farmers and producers will be there along with Slow Food and the Friulian regional-based brand Io Sono FVG. More associations will be found there, like ONAV – National Organization of Wine Tasters, Nova Gorica's Municipality, Movimento Turismo del Vino – Wine Tourism Organisation. During the international food festival visitors will be able to enjoy many cultural activities too, starting from free entry to the beautiful castle of Gorizia. Plus guided tours to Casa Formentini, hosting traditional Gorizia's cuisine and typical ancient artisanal workshops, and the exhibition “Francesco Caucig Goriziano. L'uomo, l'artista, il testimone di un'epoca” at Palazzo Coronini. Also Promoturismo FVG will promote free guided tours and walks: “Sunset from Gorizia's Castle” (22 September, 5.30pm) and “Gorizia e il Novecento, la frontiera scomparsa” – “Gorizia and the 1900s, a faded frontier” (23 September, 3pm). The city centre will be divided, as usual, into geographical districts or boroughs (borgo) in order to make it easier for visitors to choose what to eat and spot the right place where they could have it. Here's the list of borgos and countries you'll find at Gusti di Frontiera 2023:
1 – Borgo Africa+Australia (Corso Verdi): Madagascar, Senegal, Morocco and Egypt will offer traditional dishes such as hummus, kebab, fried plantains. Plus, at Australia's stall you could taste some kangaroo's meat!
2 – Borgo Mare (Borgo of the Sea, at the ex-wholesale market): fish cooked in many ways, with a superb fritto misto(mixed fried fishes)
3 – Borgo Latin&American Borgo (ex-wholesale market/via Cadorna/piazza Donatori di sangue): Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Ecuador, Perù, Portugal, Venezuela and USA. Everything from barbecues to burritos, tacos, chili, guacamole, empanadas, paella valenciana, feijoada and sangria.
4 – Borgo Orient (piazza Vittoria): Israel, India and the Middle East. Thai cuisine, spicy chicken&rice recipes, teas and infusions.
5 – Borgo Street Food (piazza Vittoria): national and international stree food stalls
6 – Borgo Italia (corso Italia/via Diaz/via Garibaldi/via Mazzini): delicacies from all Italian regions, all at once!
7 – Borgo Central Europe (via Roma): Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Holland and Belgium. Here you'll taste from Polish artisanal beers to Belgian famed fries, to the acclaimed kurtos, the Hungarian cannolis.
8 – Borgo France (corso Verdi): typical French cuisine and its most famous specialties.
9 – Borgo Austria (via Petrarca/piazza Battisti): wienerschnitzel, sausages and beers.
10 – Borgo Associazioni (via Crispi): local associations such as ProLoco
11 – Borgo Slovenia and the Balkans (via Roma/via De Gasperi/piazza Municipio): Slovenia, Greece, Serbia, Romania and Bosnia. Typical dishes like plijeskavice, ćevapčići, spit-roasted pork, pork hock and more.
12 – Mercato dei Gusti (via Rismondo)
13 – Borgo 3P – Pane, pasta &pizza (Corso Verdi): bread, pasta and pizza in every possible way and shape for visitors to enjoy.
14 – Borgo Northern Europe (piazza Sant'Antonio): UK, Scandinavia, Ireland, Scotland and Denmark. Fish and chips, smoked specialties, beers and gin.
