Of course, it's also a unique chance to enjoy a guided tour and explore the Abbey and its long history. The Abbey of Rosazzo is also surrounded by vineyards as far as the eye can see, and actually renowned Friulian winemakers Livio Felluga are in charge of Abbazia di Rosazzo's own vineyards, with whose grapes they make the eponymous white wine “Abbazia di Rosazzo”, a Friulano grape-based blend with a touch of Sauvignon, Pinot bianco, Malvasia and Ribolla gialla. So it'll be a good chance for wine lovers, too, to learn more about the centuries-long winemaking tradition of the Abbey.
For the 18th edition of “Rosazzo da Rosa”, the gates will open at 9 am both on Saturday and Sunday, with guided tours of the Abbey all day long. Here's the full schedule for the weekend:
Saturday, May 6: guided tours at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm, 4.30pm.
Last entry to the Abbey at 6pm.
Sunday, May 7: guided tours at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2.30pm, 3.30pm.
Last entry to the Abbey at 5pm, closing at 6pm.
In the cloister and outside in the gardens, there'll be a market with flowers, local handicraft and vintage objects. Here are all the flower sellers attending the event: Susigarden, Azienda Agricola Dallan Tiziano, Curridor – Floricultura Artigiana, Vivaio Fior di Rosa, IOP Aromatiche.
As to the local craftsmen, you'll find pottery by “Bottoni e non solo ceramica”; bijoux, key chains and clips made with resin by “Byaclip”; candles with flowers by “Candele in Fiore”; natural cosmetics by “Dolomite Officinali”; fabrics and more by “Home Sweet Home srl”; traditional Friulian bedroom slippers by “Lis Furlanis”; bags, cushions and more by “Piùpazzi” and porcelains, Sheffield pottery and other vintage English furniture items by “The Cottage”.
