The world of wine is a complex one, and it often tends to take itself a bit too seriously. Spirito di Vino (“Spirit of Wine”), the international contest of wine satire, was born to bring back to the forefront the convivial and joyous side of wine drinking. Last week in Gorizia, on December 3, the winners of the 23rd edition of Spirito di Vino, promoted by Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia, were finally disclosed.
For the Under 35 section: Pamela Córdova with "Wine Moon" (first place, Mexico), Andrea Vallini with "Meglio berci su" (second place, Italy) and Larissa Érri Lourenço Fernandes with “Scacco matto” (third place, Spain).
For the Over 35 section: Giacomo Cardelli with "Gradi alcolici" (first place), Marco De Angelis with "Happy uniforms" (second place), Marco Fusi with "Vino portatore di gioia e di pace" and Gianfranco Uber with "Il dono imbarazzante" (third), all of them from Italy.

The winning cartoonists were awarded a selection of the best labels of the associated wineries by well-known cartoonist and Spirito di Vino's President Valerio Marini and Elda Felluga, Movimento Turismo del Vino FVG's President, together with Fabrizio Oreti, Gorizia's Councilor for Culture, Diego Bernardis, President of the 5th Culture Commission and Alberta Gervasio, President of CiviBank. Their works, alongside the other finalists', will be on display at the Grand Hotel Entourage in Gorizia up to 5 January 2023: opening time 10am-8pm, every day (free admission). This year's edition also featured three special cartoons by renowned artists: Valerio Marini "Pedalando tra i vigneti", Alfio Krancic "La Pace di Picasso", Emilio Giannelli "Omaggio a Canova".

Since 2018 it's been teaming up with Udine's Accademia di Belle Arti “G.B. Tiepolo” to enhance manual skills in illustration.
