«Spirito Di Vino, in all these years, has gradually become an international point of reference for satire about the wine world – said Elda Felluga, creator of the contest – thus uniting people from different cultures and countries. It's a great opportunity to put Friuli Venezia Giulia on the world map». Also present was Guglielmo Pelizzo, vicepresident of CiviBank, one of the main sponsor. «We happily supported Spirito Di Vino this year – said Pelizzo – Movimento Turismo del Vino FVG didn't let the pandemic stop its actions to promote wine culture, which is strongly felt in Friuli Venezia Giulia. We keep on supporting winemakers from all the North-East of Italy, too».
"Spirito Di Vino" exhibit in Cividale
All “Spirito Di vino” illustrations will be on display up to the 9th January 2022 in the church of Santa Maria dei Battuti in Cividale del Friuli. The city also celebrates, this year, the 10th anniversary of its being included into Unesco's World Heritage List as one of the Longobards' centre of power (VI-VII century a.D.). Visits are allowed in the following opening times: 10-13 and 14.30-17.30 every Saturday, Sunday and on festive days (except on December 25th and on January 1st).
The winners were chosen by a prestigious jury, headed by the contest's president Alfio Krancic and by honorary president and renowned Italian satirical cartoonist Giorgio Forattini. Members consist of famous journalists, illustrators and media personalities, such as: cartoonist Emilio Giannelli, Gianluigi Colin (art and cover editor at “La Lettura”, supplement of one of Italy's most popular newspapers, Corriere della Sera), Franz Botré and Enzo Rizzo (head editor and vice at “Spirito DiVino” magazine), journalists Carlo Cambi and Paolo Marchi, philosopher Aldo Colonetti, radio hosts Fede & Tinto (from “Decanter” radio show), actor Francesco Salvi, cartoonist Valerio Marini and Elda Felluga.
Felluga first conceived “Spirito Di Vino” back in 2000, aiming at conveying a different view about wine and with a double final goal: persuading young people to drink consciously, and drawing attention to Friuli Venezia Giulia. The contest amplifies the deep bond between the region and its centuries-long winemaking tradition, and contributes to reach a larger audience thanks to its satirical approach. It complies exactly with Movimento Turismo del Vino Friuli Venezia Giulia's targets: enhancing the region's strengths and values, thus making it more appealing for quality wine&food tourism. Other sponsors and partners are PromoTurimoFVG, Ceccarelli Group, Juliagraf, Dolomia and qbquantobasta.
