The idea: virtuality overcoming barriers
It's been a tough year for the wine business, as Covid-19 related crisis not only affected sales figures, but also compelled all the biggest wine fairs around the world to cancel or postpone their events, thus compromising the chance for producers and enologists to connect directly with professional wine traders. Hence the need for a virtual event like La Grande Bellezza – The Great Beauty, that will bring local winemakers on a global ride through six countries and three continents.
Producers will be able to exhibit labels reviewed with at least 90+ while telling their story, the main characteristics of their production area and the vintages presented. Among the 34 Italian showcasing winemakers, 7 are from Friuli Venezia Giulia: Albafiorita, Borgo Savaian, Della Casa Vini, I Feudi di Romans, Ronco Blanchis, Valeria Cesari, Vin de la Neu. Their audience will be wine trade experts carefully chosen among importers, distributors, restaurateurs, sommeliers and collectors, thanks to a meticulous selection from the database of WinesCritic.com, Internationalwinereport.com and Wine Searcher.
But also customers around the world will be able to attend and listen to the companies' presentations: the vision and sharing will be worldwide through WinesCritic.com's newsletter and the support of Wine Searcher, the largest digital wine showcase in the world. And for winelovers, there's a surprise: The Great Beauty Experience Box is on sale, for anyone who'd fancy try the 62 presented wines and you can buy one of the 56 boxes available at this link.
Another online event, focused on the same wines, will be launched on Instagram on May 5th and 6th with Italian personalities Gianluca Impastato and Francesco Cicchella.
