«Vigneti Aperti is a format that our delegations from Lumbardy and Friuli Venezia Giulia launched successfully last year – said MTV National President Nicola D’Auria – As it was met with great enthusiasm by winelovers, we're now bringing it all over Italy. It's an educational experience open air, thus making it safe in such a distressful moment. Starting from March 20th and lasting up to November, it will give wine tourists a unique chance to follow closely all the seasonal phases that winemaking goes through, from the vineyard to the cellar».
Of course, the calendar will undergo any change that's needed accordingly to constant variations due to the Covid-19 situation. For example, as tomorrow Friuli Venezia Giulia may return to the red zone again, probably next week events will be rescheduled or postponed. MTV already predicted this sort of challenges: «It's a “fluid” program and ready to adapt quickly to any situations we'll have to face – said D'Auria – We know we can count on a very good team with one shared goal, and clearly our top priority is wine tourists' safety». So the agenda will readjust constantly, accordingly to any update linked to the Covid-19 emergency.
Visits will be arranged to guarantee tourists' and professionals' safety: they must be booked in advanced, only small groups of visitors will be allowed entrance and, of course, all safety procedures (masks, distance, etc) must be respected. «Our association has been a leader in wine tourism for many years now – said D'Auria – so our cantine (cellars) are perfectly equipped and the staffs are top level in their job. That's way we look forward to the future with self-confidence, as we've been building our know-how for so long».
Besides Vigneti Aperti, other permanent events have been scheduled, like Cantine Aperte – Open Cellars, and Calici di Stelle during the summer, with its unforgettable wine tastings under the stars at beautiful, historical locations.
