Home made marmelades, local cheeses, salami and hams, cookies and typical Christmas cakes will match the winemakers' finest wine bottles for an unforgettable present. Many winemaking facilities will set up special events, too: wine tastings and wine cellars' tours can be booked beforehand, with some also offering a taste of local salamis and ham to be paired with wines, some other matching them with frico and polenta. And some shops will welcome their guests with a hot glass of mulled wine... Not to mention the beautiful hamlets nearby many winemakers's, definitely worth visiting on Christmas time with all their festive decorations and nativity scenes. At the Castle in Porcìa there will also be an art exhibit, with works by Valter Trevisiol, up to January 8th.

About Movimento Turismo del Vino
The association counts on 800 high-profile cantine, carefully selected thanks to their quality standards as to wine tourism and accomodation. MTV aims at promoting wine culture through direct contact and visits at winemaking facilities, on one hand getting a greater public to know their associates and, on the other hand, also letting tourists know that it's possible to make wine while respecting both the environment and tradition. The Friulian delegation Movimento Turismo del Vino – Friuli Venezia Giulia consists of 80 winemaking firms, representing all the 8 regional DOC areas.
